I just got the opportunity from a friend to get a free Denon POA-5200 and a stereo set of MTX TP112 speakers. I'm looking to use this setup mainly for music, how would it fare?

I assume the POA-5200 is a good piece of equipment, but how about the MTX speaker? It's only got 1 12" woofer and a 19mm tweeter which sounds as if it would have ZERO midrange at all.

I also dont have any audio equipment to speak of and most of my music is on my PC so how would hooking up the Denon to my pc sound?

A 12" woofer has plenty of midrange. Two way PA systems are commonly crossed over at 2kHz or even higher. It will get plenty loud for a computer system. Just be warned if you're closer than three feet to the HF horn you will probably hear some hiss especially if the receiver's amp is on the noisy side.
