Free space lies?

So I downloaded a whole bunch of games onto my idevice, thanks to a visit to SlideToPlay's top 50 game list. I currently have 1.3GB of free space. I am trying to install a game that is 685MB but it says I've run out of space. Why?

Generally, iOS requires twice the size of a game to download and install (due to temporary files/the install package). So 1.3GB is not enough free space to install that game. If you want to install it, you need to hook up your iOS device to a computer and sync the game from iTunes.

I deleted 500mb of stuff so I could play this game and it turns out it sucks so bad I deleted it before finishing the tutorial. Ugh.
