Free software to performance benchmark my cpu?

I am looking for a free benchmark I can run to measure my CPU to make sure it is performing in line can anybody point me in the direction of a popular one?

Just looking at benchmarks online and you will see what everybody uses,most of those are free.
Some of the more popular onew are
cinebench 15
SuperPI
Prime 95
 
If it's Intel try the IPDT (intel processor diagnostic tool). It's not a benchmark but does check the CPU whether it's good or not.
