Title says it all. I'm looking for freeware that I can use to mount ISO images and play games without have to switch cds all the time. I used to use Daemon Tools but it ended up crashing my computer. Microsoft has this program called Virtual CD-ROM Control Panel, however I have problems with that as well. I can successfully mount images with it however the games still complain of not being able to find the CD. I used an ISO that was converted from a *.ccd file (created with CloneCD) that worked with Daemon Tools so I don't think its the game's copy protection kicking in.

Any ideas?

Why not just extract and copy the entire game cd to a Folder on the hard drive
and also put the game .exe that you use to run it in the same folder ? ?

It should see it

Why not find out why Daemon Tools is crashing?
Best other choice is Alcohol 120% but they both use the same SCSI service anyway so I don't see how it would matter which one you use.

The sptd.sys file which is part of the SCSI service was causing the crash. My system wouldn't boot.

I had the same problem with alcohol 120. I uninstalled the program and removed all entries in the registry, downloaded the latest version and installed it. Fixed the problem. So you might try the same with daemon tools.

That was an issue with an older version on Daemon Tools. The newer version fixed that issue.
