Go here and click on the link. You must e-mail them your contact info and they'll send you your sample. Christmas is coming and with all the good food (high in fat/calories) you'll be in-taking, this could definitely come in handy. ;)

I've always been skeptabul (anyone remember that commercial?) about this stuff. Guess this is my chance to try it. Thanks for another deal, Ranger X.

I called the #800.

Talked to a rep...

I asked "I would like a sample of Metabolife"

He then just asked for my mailing info...that's it. No sales pitch.....

It is well known that the FDA has been looking to restrict one of the substances in this product for increased risk of "cardiac events". Not too long ago metabolife added some rather strong warnings to their package... but only after FDA made some preliminary findings. Not unlike PPA that was removed from the shelves recently for similar reasons. I pay close attention to things like this... I'm a pharmacist. I highly doubt metabolife will be on the market all that much longer... at least not in it's current formulation.

This stuff is safe if used correctly, like alot of other OTC stuff like Tylenol it can be harmful if abused but used correctly there's nothing dangerous about it.

Yeah, like any other drug, I think if used correctly it could be helpful. I prefer the old fashion way of losing weight.

Working out ;)

How do you know that iluvdeal? There aren't any studies that say that. I can pretty much say with certainty that Metabolife will make you lose weight. It's speed, and speed makes you lose weight. They can blab about their special formula all they want, but when it comes down to it, the ephedrine (MaHuang) and caffeine (guarana) are what cause the weightloss. The rest of the crap is useless. As soon as you stop the metabolife, you'll gain the weight back. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, its long term effects are unstudied, but common sense tells you that speed is bad, and this is nothing more than weak speed.

What is the correct way to use it? What it says on the label? And just how did the manufacturer come up with the info they put on the label? There is no evidence that metabolife is safe for chronic use.

Like I said earlier... FDA feels as though there is a large potential for harm w/ products such as these. The manufacturer likes to point out studies that only include VERY limited samples of individuals. One study only had 141 people!!! WTF? It takes thousands of people being studied for long periods of time to prove safety, and even then there are recalls all the time. But, since the FDA doesn't have clear control over "dietary supplements" it is much more difficult for them to do anything about it.

Products w/ PPA were considered safe for decades... then we find that 200-500 deaths per year could be attributed to PPA. That was Dexatrim, folks. This is a perfect example of a well studied product thought to be more or less safe and what do you know? People at 18 dead of a stroke. So..... Knowing full well that ephedrine is not well studied would *you* want to take it on a regular basis? Would you get hurt? Probably not. Is there a chance of being hurt? Yep, I think there probably is. Is it really worth it? Probably not.

As a few here may know, I am a doctor, and I see at least a few people a year in the hospital with heart attacks and heart damage (which by the way is permanent) who had just started taking metabolife and other such "natural" drugs...people who have no other reasons to have heart problems (i.e. young, healthy women, etc...)

I wouldn't touch that stuff with a ten foot pole. Its amazing that they haven't been sued out of business yet.
