(hehe but still a nice find 🙂 )

You're kidding - right???? All the prosperity that Clinton inherited is because of what the Gipper did....

<< You're kidding - right???? All the prosperity that Clinton inherited is because of what the Gipper did.... >>

C'mon. RR truly was a bad president, and left a legacy of voodoo economics that sent us into 10 years of federal deficits.

Ronald Reagan should be stuffed and put on display like Trigger, as a warning to future generations as to the difference between acting and reality.

Bwahaha haaahaaaahaaaa
*wipes tears from eyes*
*chuckle*
thanks for making my day a happy one.

Do you even understand economic basics? Voodoo economics, where the top tax rate was lowered from 70%! down to a much more reasonable level caused producers to start producing again.

Would you have prefered us to stay with the Carter economy? That was fun, if you are old enough to remember it.

Oh MY!! What lunacy !!!!

The legacy of RR is:
Soviet Union Crumbled
Trickle-Down economics _DO_ work and resulted in the longest period of peacetime economic economic expansion in US history. Heck, the resulting infrastructure was so strong that it took Clinton 8 years of buffoon-ism to derail the juggernaught that RR had constructed.

HOT DEAL !!!!! I want my free sticker !!!!!

alm4rr, go pinch a loaf somewhere else

What is it that people fail to understand? When you comment it goes right back to the top, if you don't appreciate something, let it drop!!

There's still way too many ignorant liberals left who do not understand the Constitution or the reasons why we are the most prosperous country and the best place in the world to live. Hint: it's not because of socialism, it's because of capitalism. Ronald Reagan was certainly the best president of my 33 year old lifetime, probably the best of the 20th century and maybe ever. God bless the Gipper. 🙂

Well put! I would pay for these too!

After you fill out the form and submit it, it asks for your National Republican Senatorial Committee membership ID. So I guess its not available to the public unless you were a member.

Amen Brother Valvoline6

btw, in case no one told you, neither clinton nor reagan was responsible for the prosperous economy--it was the american consumer, the american worker, and the american entrepeneur. presidents don't do siht, especially ones who sleep through cabinet meetings or ones getting blown while on the phone.

who do not understand the Constitution ]
Never talk about politics and religion with your friends, and I consider you all in that catagory, BUT, Oliver North and the CIA wanted an "off the shelf" black co-intel organization that would have NO+ Congress oversight. (with the approval of Reagan, although he had "selective" memory of his meeting where that was discussed, when questioned by Federal Investigators) That is not in the Constitution. Reagan was good and bad for the country IMO, but what President wasn't? No nukes were launched on his watch, and for that we owe him a debt of thanks. But he isn't my "idol".

We're going waaaaaay off topic here. However, I'd like to hopefully shed a little light on that one. My wife is Russian, and I've visited that part of the world several times. It did not fall apart because Reagan said "Mr. Gorbachev, tear town this wall." It died due to it's own weight of internal oppressiveness, economic failures, corruption, and one man who could not possibly foresee the snowball effect of his perestroika ideas. Once Gorbachev let his people have a glimpse of freedom, there was no way to stop it. However, if Gorbachev hadn't loosened the reigns a bit, and there had been another typical hard-line Soviet leader, there may well have been a very big, very bloody civil war.

It was also the explosion of modern communication technologies that finally let people see what was happening beyond their "iron curtain."

Believe me, it wasn't Reagan, or Carter, or Ford, or Nixon or any president. Totalitarian regimes have a habit of collapsing in on themselves.

Absolutely. So now ask yourself why that is so? Why did Reagan bring back consumer confidence? Why did workers vote for him? Why did entrepeneurs endeavor new challenges, despite the pessimism of the Carter years?

It is because the Gip brought back confidence in the hearts of Americans.

It is because he stood for his morals and told the TRUTH about the communists and challenged them at their own game.

It is because he lowered taxes so that entrepeneurs could invest in America.

Presidents can make a difference brother, and so can you and I.

Here here. Its mostly angry youth and college students whose naive world view -- based on legalized hemp and recycled cans -- will come crumbling down down at their feet when they have to earn a living and pay taxes for lazy people to watch cable.

Hey Crapkilla (AKA junior member w/15 posts)......... like i said, NICE FIND and a bump to the top.......
some people cant take a tongue/cheek joke

get it if u want it but STFU and take the politics to OT!!!
If you want political discourse, go read a book or go to a lecture - don't spout off in Hot Deals.

The reason the USSR crumbled was the Ronnie Raygun decided to push the US economy to build all the guns and tanks it could. The USSR economy could not keep up, and crumbled.

And Ronnie proved that non-lawyers could make good presidents. Look for actor Arnie next governor of CA after this election. Ronnie started out here in CA as governor if you remember. Unfortunately (or fortunately) Arnie cannot be prez.

<<The reason the USSR crumbled was the Ronnie Raygun decided to push the US economy to build all the guns and tanks it could. The USSR economy could not keep up, and crumbled. >>

You're correct to a point, but the Soviets had been pouring a disproportionate amount of their GNP into the military for decades, not just the Reagan years. The Soviets held their union together militarily. They had continuously put more resources into their military than their economy could handle, and in turn, ignored the people and infrastructures. If there had been no Yeltsin as a figurehead for the populace to grab on to and hold on for dear life, and the hard-line coup had succeeded, God knows what might have happened. We may have gone back to the darkest days of the Cold War, but with a very destabilized Soviet government.

Hmmm....Biography just had a show that rated him one of the "Best presidents of the 20th Century". He did a lot for the country, made the US a force to be respected again (everyone was basically laughing at the US after the 70's), and basically did what needed to be done. His economic packages would take 5-10 years to take effect, and they did, hence the prosperity of the 90's. There are very few people that are knowledgeable in politics that would dispute that. That's why Clinton had time to lay back and get BJ's and chase women while in office. Those "10 years of federal deficits" were needed to pay for the programs to stimulate the economy...which is did in a BIG way.
