Decent selection, but very slow turn around times for new DVD's. Most also are listed as "VERY LONG WAIT". My month is just about up, and am undecided on whether or not to continue, primarily due to the slow turn around rate. It oftan takes up to 4 or 5 days for a new title to be sent after they get the old one back.

Controller: You realize the turnaround is based primarily on where you live, right? Where do you live?

Anyone know where their warehouses are?

Have you tried Netflix? Netflix can be pretty good if you have a distribution center near you. I live in Ohio and receive my movies from Michigan so turn around times are pretty good for me. I believe Netflix is $19.95 per month plus tax.

If you go online and try and cancel your Netflix account, they will offer you a discounted rate. They offered me $15.95 per month for 3 movies out at a time.

Thanks, did not know that DreDay. Might be worth trying...although I'm concerned about losing my current account priveleges. Right now I get to have 4 movies out instead of 3. I think it's that way because I was "grandfathered" in from an earlier membership before they changed the rules.

When you try and cancel, it doesn't cancel you immediately. It will show you the discount offers and then you have 3 choices:

1. pick one of the discounted offers
2. Stay with your currect membership
3. cancel your membership

So you can check what they will offer you without actually taking one or canceling your membership.

WalMart's dvd rental warehouse is located in middle GA. I think that is the only one they have right now.

DreDay,

Just tried what you suggested. And for my account...it wouldn't allow me to cancel online. The message I get is that I have to call in order to cancel. Perhaps this has something to do with the way my account is set up now. Oh well...it was worth a shot.

I tried the Walmart DVD rental free trial and it went quite well. I had the first DVD delievered to me within 2 days. I think it's because the WM distribution center is about 5 miles away from my apartment. I live in Statesboro, GA. I couldn't believe that they sent the DVD's in a thin sleeve w/ no protection. I don't know how they stay intact after so many deliveries. No matter, Wally World is making tons of money elsewhere. Anyway, I just cancelled my service after about 20 days. That was enough time for me to view about 6 movies....sweet deal.

I would call them and tell them you're not satisfied with the service and are thinking of cancelling. Ask them what they can do to keep you from going to WalMart or some other Online DVD Rental place.

90% of the time, this will get you some kind of discount or free month. This works for almost any service that you pay month to month and are not under contract. For example: cell phone service, statelite TV service. It will even work with credit card company's and they will offer you a lower interest rate.

You and I are alike :) I'm grandfathered into 4 movies like you and also live in Ohio. The turnaround on movies have improved alot since they opened up new centers.
