SyncSort & Pruning Shears?

One of these things is not like the other, one of these things just doesn't belong. Who was the brilliant marketing exec that said, "Hmmm, I bet a bunch of computer guys could really use some pruning shears." I'd say the odds of this actually showing up are pretty high. Demand really can't be all that high.

I'm assuming you are ALL Qualified IT Professionals? Thats the fine print on who can receive these shears. I've given up on most of these offers because they usually don't pan out and are targeted for a very specific group and are a waste of time. Good luck in getting these. Hopefully some of you fit into this catagory.

Actually, I'm more interested in their software than the pruning shears. At work we are trying to do some database loads for an Oracle database for SAP R/3 and it is going to take us forever. Who knew I'd find a possible solution here. Thanks X.

When I did SAS programming about 10 years ago, SyncSort was the only way to go if you wanted decent speed on certain data manipulations. I'm actually surprised to see that 10 years later the SAS Institute still hasn't sped up their own base SAS procedures enough to put SyncSort out of the SAS add-on business.

I have yet to receive anything from SyncSort. I guess they're really enforcing the "Must be IT Professional" rule.
