free program compatable with micorsoft works.

i have some old, but important, microsoft works files that i need to open. I've tried openoffice, but nothing of any use comes out, and i don't have microsoft office to try that.

anyone have any other ideas?

I believe I remember seeing on microsofts download page free programs that would convert a works file to a word or text file.

Go HERE. Get 602PCSUITE 4.1. I have used it before, it's decent. Forum member Maetryx was the one that originally introduced me to it.

EDIT: Oops, my bad. I thought you said Microsoft Word.
