Has anybody else had installation problems with their HP 930c (or 932c) printer in parallel mode with Win98? I tried both ver. 2.1 and 2.3 of the software, but I couldn't get anything but a line of strange characters or blank pages that fed after every boot up. I applied the fixes described at
http://www.hp.com/cposupport/printers/support_doc/bpd06536.html (technique 2, running MSCONFIG to eliminate start-up programs), and while the printer then worked, I couldn't use two of my three free Internet providers, NetZero and Altavista FreeAV. They'd dial and connect, but the sessions wouldn't start. Juno Internet still worked though. I think this was a problem even before I made the changes with MSCONFIG, because NZ and AV didn't work even after I ran MSCONFIG again to restore the original configuration. It wasn't until I removed the HP930c software that NZ and AV worked again.
I had no problems with the USB installation of this printer.
