Free Printer Deal when you buy an Apple

Has anyone done this? I thouht it wsan't a bad deal to get a free printer as I have a crappy old Dell printer... then I saw that you have to send the ORIGINAL UPC and Proof of purchase (or atleast that was my reading of the legal document at here.

Does anyone know if this is true? Isn't it bad to send your original UPC and stuff.. especially if you have problems down the line? Plus that means you have to cut and destroy that beautiful Mac box. It almost doesn't seem worth the 100 dollars. Any thoughts?

THe rebate came pretty quick for me, around a month time frame.

I did it on my old Mac Mini...

Rebate was the quickest i've ever gotten back, about 3 weeks. Sold the printer on eBay for $65

Just make a copy of your UPC for your records and your fine.

i did it on my mbp. i needed a new printer anyway. i ended up with an hp all in one, i use it for printing.
