Why wouldn't a business be able to afford $10/mo for their own pic hosting?

Hell I'll offer you $10/mo for 3GB/30GB, register a domain and PM me.

? what are you talking about. i'm not a business if you mean me...

& thanks but i DO have my own host... remember you PM me to set up ripplehost earlier this year etc etc etc...

Just that I figured these online photalbum sites I could set up a album in minutes.

Whereas with my own site, I'd never done it before, and fear it'd take me 10-15hrs to figure it out... and I don't have that time for the next 2 months...

and my vacation pics will be stale by then....

I would be more than happy to install coppermine gallery for you on your ripplehost account, would take me about 15 minutes.

I can even walk you through it on AIM/MSN if you want, PM me.

It's very easy and I can do it for you if you would like.

1) Obtain web hosting, it's as cheap as $9.99/yr.
2) Install image gallery software such as coppermine which I use here.

Installation takes about 15 minutes. PM me your AIM and MSN and I can walk you through the entire process.

rossman, i shall... but probably don't have time until the weekend though... & thanks alot.

now... you installing coppermine FOR me.... on ripplehost... I thought I read you are NOT affiliated/own ripplehost?

does it allow for password protection of a linked entry point into your 'gallery pages' of your photo album?

[sarcasm with eye roll]

OMG you caught me red handed, oh no what am I gonna do?

Yes you are correct (insert expletive), that's why I would need your domain, rhxxx username and password to login to your cPanel, FTP and create a MySQL database. I've helped about 20 other AT'ers install forums and pichosting all for free just to help them out.

This weekend is fine.

Any other questions?

😛

ya mon, i need a mysql dbase to work with coppermine in order to host pics?

Good idea and I've been planning on doing that. There's nothing more rewarding than learning how to do it yourself.

Granted installing coppermine is simple but it really helps to understand the steps and why you're doing them.

Hopefully in the next few weeks I'll have a "how to install ..." section of Neffing.com up and running.

Talk to you this weekend.
