Some of you may have received an email about getting $20 off a purchase in the origin store after completing a small survey. I received this email, too. Although the code it gives you is not unique and anyone can use it without the need of completing the survey. If you go to Origin.com in an Incognito Google Chrome tab (will be explained later) and add one of these games (there may be more):

-Dragon Age Origins
-Dragon Age 2
-Mass Effect 1 & 2
-Battlefield 2142
-Crysis Warhead
-Dead Space 1 & 2
-Medal of Honor
-Darkspore
-FIFA 12
-Sim City 4
-Need for Speed: Pro Street
-Medal of Honor: Airborn
-Battlefield 2
-Spore
-Crysis
-Bulletstorm
-Burnout Paradise
-Battlefield Bad Company 2
-Sims 2 Double Deluxe

to your shopping cart, followed by entering this promo code: "OS3874XVC", your purchase will go down to $0.00. After entering the promo code you can log into your account and complete the purchase (for free.) If you close this incognito tab and open a new one and repeat the process you can receive all of these games for one very low price of free.

You use an Incognito tab so your cookies won't be saved to your browser. Some people say that other browsers work after clearing their cookies, but I think using an Incognito tab is much easier and hassle free.

I heard it only works for the US but some people have been getting through from other regions with the use of a proxy.

Here is the link to the reddit thread where I discovered this process.

My last free purchase was at 4PM EDT for Dead Space 2, this brought my total to 5 free games for today.

Just because you can do it doesn't mean you should. This is obviously exploiting the vendor's intention of the use of this code. Moderator Oakenfold

Yup. Coupon good for one free game ($20 or less). Currently it's only 1 per customer, but yesterday someone at EA messed up, and you could redeem the code as many times as you wanted. I managed to get 3 free games on Origin before they fixed it.

Some people managed to get literally over a dozen free games. If I heard about the glitch sooner, I probably would've gotten a lot more. Ah well. 😛

Sweet! There are definitely a few on there I would like to play through. Won't be able to try this until tonight.

I don't use Google Chrome -- I alternate between IE9 and Firefox -- but I wonder if IE9's InPrivate Browsing would work for this. I'm off to try...

Aww, used it to get two games, but it was invalid by the time I go for Fifa 12

PS
By that it would still some 0.00 dollar during checkout when you are not logged in but the price would reset to their normal price once you are logged in

I was able to get dead space 2 and bad company 2, their website is loading at a crawl now though so having a hard time trying for a third.

I got one game at about 2:00, couldn't get anything after that; just tried again now 5 hours later for no reason and it worked for a 2nd game, can't get a third now. I'll try again later. I am clearing everything FF stores.

only opened it in an incognito tab but thanks for the tip i'll try it again!
nope still no go after clearing cookies

Guys, this sounds fraudulent/stealing, if you have to hide who you are to use the code, and it's meant for peopel who are asked to take the survey. That's be pirating.

Not sure that's right, but raising the concern.

If it is, this thread should be removed despite the OP trying to get people 'free stuff'.

Site's been hammered since the survey's went out and it doesn't seem like EA has any idea that so many people are using it or they just don't care.

Yeah, it isn't working for me anymore either. I'll try it again in a few hours maybe.

*for the record I have only been using my origin account and haven't used any fraudulent means to download anything

Think its patched now. Snagged mass effect 1 and dragon age origins, no complaints here 🙂

Still works, just do this instead:

"Because it thinks you are in USA when logged out by that link, then you apply the USA Code.. By the time you hit the checkout the fake usa details it's sent to your UK email.
