Sorry, accidentaly posted too soon.

*Anyway. I want to Partition my drive to install Linux as a second operating system, and this is the only time I would use it. So I don't want to buy PartitionMagic. Is there a free alternative so I can do this? The trial version of PM doesn't allow you to apply the changes.

Are you trying to rearrange partitions while keeping the data intact?

If not, then the basic partition manager in the first part of XP setup should work fine. Just create unformatted partitions for your Linux partitions and format them as necessary during the Linux installation.

You might try checking out the partition tools on the ultimate boot CD though if you are wanting something free.

If you are trying to keep your data intact, I recommend qtparted. It is what I used to resize my NTFS partition to make room for Linux. Dowload the Linux system rescue CD from www.sysresccd.org. Boot from it, and when you get to a command prompt, run qtparted. It is basically a fully functional partition magic clone. It worked well for me.

If it works, great, but it wouldn't on my NT Server. I ended up doing it manually with ntfsresize and fdisk....LOL....that was pretty hard core.
