Free quart of paint at Ace hardware, http://http://www.acehardware.com/coupon/index.jspit's a new line they are promoting worth about $17 regular price and the will mix any color you like. The one near me limits it to the first 40 customers, last week there was a line forming an hour before the store opened.. D:

Cool. Might actually do this. Have my office/bonus room left as the only room yet to be painted him my home that I bought in 2008. Free might be enough to get me to actually finally do it.

Line forming out the door an hour before store opens, each person getting a custom mixed paint, 40 people, 10 min or so to mix and shake each one, thats what, 6 hour wait?

BTW a quart of paint I don't think will paint even a small room, which is why that amount is offered free, try the paint on something small and then you need to buy more to finish.

Maybe a small bathroom, maybe. Good for trim work or a door or 2 though. The cash register girl said it was a nightmare, LOL, it did indeed took them hours to get everyone done and then some had the gall to bitch, "what, no semi-gloss!", WTF kind of asshole bitches about free $17 worth of anything AND custom blended to the color of your choice..

Just painted my medium-sized bathroom (with this brand of paint, actually), and I needed two quarts. One quart really won't go very far...but I printed out the certificate anyway.

Also, it's for the flat paint only - I wouldn't use that in a bathroom, or a kitchen for that matter. If I can get some, it will be for a closet. That's about all a quart of flat paint is good for.

If you need to paint anything bigger than a bathroom, it would be more economical to buy one gallon of this stuff at full price (it's about $40) than get a quart free and have to buy 3 additional quarts for $17 each. Just a word to the wise...

Ace hardware is awesome.

To others, I am not sure on this paint, but they do have kitchen and bath-safe flat paints today.

I'll tell 'ya what during the 2004 cane season from hell Ace was busiest store in town, mostly knowledgeable floor people plus any odd bolt or nut to complete whatever plywood you were hanging they had and I didn't have to walk 1/2 mile to get in and back to the car..

I never had a corner hardware store. I took a chance on my neighborhood in 2007 and unfortunately all the good things about it are dying. Used to be a gem of an older neighborhood. The flippers fucked us with the meant-to-rent types everywhere.

Still although I have to make a 10 minute drive to HD or Lowes; they usually have all the things I can't find at the big box stores. Their hardware and drill bit selection is the best. I never thought I'd need metric bits, but they had them (4mm and 5mm I think I had to buy, they were one size apart recently)...same with taps and dies. They have the best prices here for lawn care maintenance.

Plus our staff knows WTF they are doing and if the guy helping doesn't he will call another guy to help rather than just get you out of his section.
