Free online storage? Need 30GB+-

I have about 30GB worth of media.
Music, games, movies, and maybe a few pictures.
Is there someway I could get this uploaded and have access for me and friends/family to download for free? Download speeds don't matter much.

Sounds like I might be asking to much but there's a lot out there so if anyone knows anything matching the description let me know.

Paying works too if it's cheap and one time only.

Have you thought about a networked drive? They include software that would allow you to access it anywhere there is an internet connect. That might be your best bet well at least that I know of.

I'd have to say go with a computer with an internet connection and just share it through an FTP server. 30gb of online storage for free or cheap....um I don't think so. not to mention the fact that you'd be UPloading 30gb through your internet connection...

Here's what I would do:

Backup movies and games to DVD and delete them from harddisk.
Backup Documents, Pics, Music to an external hd.

I have 1 computer with internet and have none of that equipment, on top of that I've never backed up with cd/dvd before:| Though the computer can do it.

Online storage would be the cheapest and easiest way for me to do it:shocked:

Ding ding ding! We have a winner! :cookie: Make DVDs for my videos, my .isos of games (yes, I use emulation.) I burn to a disk and have the emu read them, I keep my music on either my MP3 player of on a spare HD I have (getting close to 300GB 😉 ) , and I keep my most important files (ie, my site graphics, .htm files, etc) on my External HDD.

It only seems the cheapest because you don't know how much it costs. To get 30GB of space on a server for a one-time cost basically won't happen. It will probably cost you at least $50-$100 per year. An external hard drive will cost you $100 one time.

Come on, man. Just because you haven't done it before doesn't mean you shouldn't do it. This is really the easiest way to do things. Backing up the non-vital stuff, like games and movies, to optical media is the best, esp since games and movies are native to optical media. The stuff that gets updated - like music, pictures, and data should be backed up to HD - whether its internal or external. Backing up online is a bitch because you have to upload everything and most people's connections probably upload faster than 384kb/s, unless you have Fios.

Since your computer can backup to DVD/CD, buy a 60-pack of Playo DVD+R from Staples for $7 after easy rebate, the +R Playo media is amazing quality. Burning a DVD at 12x takes like 7 minutes tops, probably less. HDs are dirt cheap nowadays, Frys has a 320GB Maxtor (rebadged Seagate) for $60. With that much space you could even skip the DVDs and just backup everything to HD.
