At www.nothingbutsoftware.com you can get Norton SystemWorks 2000 free with any purchase. I saw some software priced at $9.95, there is probably cheaper stuff too. I may jump on this deal, SystemWorks has Antivirus, Norton Utilities and Norton CleanSweep. They have some other warm deals for some games and kids software (free Encyclopaedia Britannica with some talking dictionary, etc.).

I ordered Norton SystemWorks Pro 2001 from directdeals.com for $14. and it works on Win95/98/NT/200/Me (they also have 2000 version for $4. - I don't know if 2000 version is comp. w/ WinMe).
and WinFax Pro v.10 for $7. - both full versions (not upgrades) - oem (cd's only - no manuals - I believe manuals are in .pdf format on cd's).

Some pretty good deals on their site!
Shipping is reasonable - was about $5.xx total for 3 cd's.

BTW - they also have the RETAIL boxed version of SystemWorks Pro 2001 w/ manual for $80. But, who needs a manual??!!

Hm, strange, it was on their specials page. Nevermind, I found this link which seem to work. They have Daikatana for $2.95 after rebate and a whole bunch of games and stuff for about $5 after rebate.

Thanks Fornax!!!!

I have been wanting an "official" version of Norton. I just added "Prince of Persia 3D" which is $2.95 after rebate. Total cost after rebate including shipping will be $7.90 for both programs

Thanks for posting the deal!!!

'Official' version? The free one seems to be the standard OEM version of Norton SystemWorks 2000. Please Note: each CD-ROM will be packaged in a reusable/protective plastic CD jewel case, with program running instructions. The standard retail packaging was eliminated to make this promotional offer possible.
Like VH2000, I too ordered the OEM version of Norton SystemWorks
2001 Professional Edition plus WinFax Pro v.10 OEM from DirectDeals for $26.22 shipped.

rivo - what do you mean by "official" version?
If you are implying that the directdeals.com version is NOT an "official"
version, you are incorrect! I've got it right in front of me - it's legit!
(If that is not what you meant, then disregard my rambling rant) :)

crazy8 - Yeah, I ordered 2 copies of Norton SysWorks Pro 2001 & 1 copy of WinFax Pro 10 - total was $40.xx shipped. A friend wanted a copy - but that's one of the few times I actually ordered my own! I mean that I didn't MAKE a copy of . . . or, uhhh . . . I mean . . . yeah, make a backup of my own ORIGINAL software for emergency purposes! ;)

GREAT DEAL THOUGH!!

BTW - NSW Pro 2001 works great with Windows ME.

Just so everyone knows Norton SystemWorks 2000 is NOT compatible with Windows ME. That was one of the reasons they came out with NSW 2001 PRO. There have been a few people say they can use it but most people I have seen have had trouble with it on Windows ME.

VH2000 -- sorry for the confusing "verbage" of my post, I edited to clarify. :) I had a copy -- wanted to purchase official one which I did now.

I only installed Norton AntiVirus 2001 and Ghost though. They are great. Just transferred everything (in Windows 2000 Professional OS) from my old 13GB Seagate HD to the new Maxtor 40GB Diamond 60 plus from Staples. Very smooth! Well worth the price I paid! :D

crazy8 - Did you ghost an image of the 13gb and then load it to the new drive?

I've used ghost 5.0 in the past and it works awesome!
Took me less than 15 minutes (start to finish) to reload a Win98 system with an image.

Try out Norton WinDoctor also!!
This cleaned up quite a few problems I was having with Windows ME.
Pretty quick, too!
