Free Nokia Cellular Logos - Really neat.

There is a program that lets us Sync Outlook Data with your Phone called
FoneSync. If you read the FAQ at Nokia Logo Manager'ssite, it list places you can get the serial cable from. I got lucky and grabbed FoneSync when CompUSA had it for $50 with a $50 phone.com rebate.

Even though your Phone is not meant for a GSM network, there is still a Layer of GSM called the GSM command set. Almost all modern phones use this to program the phones. You can dig around the web and you'll find the basic command sets. The advance one's like to reprogram the Splash Screens, Logos, Ring Tones , etc.. are Manufacturer Specific.

To clear up any confusion, if we're talking US based carriers (primarily ATT here) then the following phones ONLY can use logos:

5160i
5165
6160m
8260
7160(when released)

The 5100 and 6100's have a cable available. The 8260 is done via e-mail as there is no cable yet. The 7160 would use the same cable as the 5100/6100. Logomanger (www.logomanger.co.uk) should work with the new 51/6100 models and the data cable. There may be a way to send logos via SMS e-mail too, but I don't know the format.

Any xx20 series phone will not work with logos. Any xx90 phone will, since they're GSM.

I have a 6190 and received a message from the iguana web site for a logo, but I couldnt save it as a logo. It said the message was not readable and it didnt have an option to save it. Any ides on what went wrong? I use PacBell and I've received ringtones on my phone before with no problems.

Does anyone know of a site that has tones for the Ericsson model cell phones? Specifically the Ericsson CF 768 model? Thanks in advance!

Nades:

that YourMobile.com has the text entries for Ericsson models....

assuming you have a melody that you can edit in your ericsson, then find the one you want, then click text, use the drop down box for 'ericsson' and there you are!

i have no idea if your model phone is capable of customizing ringtones though... my ericsson r280xl has to melodies called 'my melody 1' and 'my melody 2' that i can edit.

hope this helps!
