This is in my current Target sales flyer. The phone itself is nothing special but goes for $40 at Target. The best thing about the deal is that if you already have TMo-to-Go, you can unlock this phone and resell it on fleabay for around $40. The phone could then be used on either Cingular or TMo.
This would make your refill cost about $60 for 1000 minutes, and the minutes will be good for a year. Plus, any minutes you add later will extend all your minutes for another year. This makes TMo the cheapest prepaid deal, *if* you get decent coverage with them.
This year they've added free roaming on Cingular's GSM network, so the coverage is better now. See this FAQ for details.
To unlock the phone, go here and use these settings with your phone's IMEI number -
Network: USA - TMobile all areas
Gen: V2
Phone: Asic 2.
Try the 7th code generated first, then the 1st, then the 5th.
It's not hard to do but you only get 5 tries before the phone locks you out. As far as I know, you have to unlock without the SIM card in the phone, or you can put a Cingular SIM in it. You enter the code directly from the startup screen with no sim or wrong sim inserted.
