Saw this at FW. From that thread, a post said it is from Blockbuster

Filmcaddy.com

Where is FilmCaddy located?
We are located in Mesa, Arizona - just outside Phoenix.

I'd venture to say this is not Blockbuster. If this were really Blockbuster, wouldn't they rely on their name brand that they've spent millions on instead of some name nobody has ever heard of?

It is blockbuster but not really. They just bought them so they can get the research data and see if it's worth it to jump into the game. I think my local blockbuster didn't get dvds till beginning of 1999. I had to go to Hollywood video back in 1997 when I back my dvd player to rent dvds. So they just take longer. Well, hell, now I'll sign up with these guys too filmcaddy.com and see the turnaround time. The #1 thing though is I want to get the local thing from blockbuster ($29.99 for spiderman is too much)

$22.99 for three DVDs out at any one time, $17.99 for two DVDs (2) at the local blockbuster (currently in a few select cities)

"Netflix has signed up 742,000 customers, four years since it launched. Blockbuster has signed up more than 200,000 customers at the 500 stores that had the program before last week. Blockbuster is testing in New York area, Seattle, Phoenix, and Houston, and last week it added Salt Lake City."

Also interesting from the article was that in 1999, 15% of total revenue for blockbuster was from late fees (aren't we all shocked)

ok so now I'm with rentmydvd.com (screw them they've gone sour beyond belief)
greencine.com (good for anime, foreign, etc. no mainstream) (2 week trial)
walmart.com/dvdrentals (just signed up but it seemed like there were too many 'Very Long Wait' so we shall see. (1 month trial)

hmm I was with netflix from 1999 till 2001...they went to hell....but now I'm reading stuff like they don't suck anymore so who knows.

That's not difficult, is it? When I last gave up on Netflix their turnaround time was soooo slow you could only watch two batches of movies in one month. That's compared to how they were at the beginning that would could request your second batch before you would even finish wacthing the one you had at home so you would never have any down time.

I am in the Washington DC area and I watch 20+ movies a month with Netflix. I signed up with Walmart on the 10/10 and I still have not received my second wave of DVDs so two weeks and only 3 DVDs. It is all about who has the best locations I think Netflix is the best because of the one day turn around.

Does anybody know where the distro centers are for this place?

I watch 15-20 movies a month using netflix $20/month program. I even keep the dvds for couple of days so i could rip and encode in divx. they have more than half a dozen warehouses across the nation now.

I signed up at Walmart on 10/15. My 3 CDs were mailed out 10/16; received on 10/18. I mailed them back 10/21; they received them on 10/24. My second shipment was mailed on 10/24. If I receive them by 10/29, I'll have received my 2nd set within 2 weeks of signing up. Assuming they keep up the quick turnaround, I should be able to rent 12 CDs per month without having to drive 20 miles to the nearest rental store (I live in Maine).
