Alaska Platinum
Deal ends 5/15/03

Seems pretty hot to me. The true test is a survey of the AT cheapskates! Are there better deals to be found for mileage?

any annual fees?

99% of airline point credit cards charge an annual fee anywhere from $25 - $150 per year.

I've had the Alaska Airlines Classic Visa for 1 year now and have racked up about 15,000 miles so far. The annual fee is less $45/yr and you get less but it still offers a lot.

If you fly a lot or live in the Alaska Airlines region, it's definitely worth looking into.

I've had an Alaska Airines VISA for around 10 years. I have the Platinum card described in the original post. When I lived at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, I used to pay RENT with it 🙂. I use it for everything I'm going to pay off immediately just to get the mileage.

Alaska has been doing some specials too. 13,000 miles for a round trip ticket from Portland, OR to California. A sweet deal for me and the wife. I've had the card for 6 months, already have used 2 free tickets, have another 40,000 miles banked. Filter everything you can pay off at the end of the month on the card. BTW, they service Hawaii and Mexico too through their partner associations. Those tickets I believe are 40,000 miles per ticket.
