Hmmm............(thinkin' about it but wonderin' what I really need it for).........

What's the use ability like?? (Can we install it on more than one machine??)

And how long will it last?? Will it not accept any updates??? Will it not accept updates after a certain time???

😕

Thanks OP.

For a serial number I signed up before for the download and they sent me one and it was suppose to be good for 10 machines.

It's a beta.

Windows XP is still a beta in my book. They still haven't got it right. How many windows updates are there just in the past 2 months?

I concur...all software releases are beta as far as I'm concerned. No such thing is perfect piece of software! Ever! No matter what it is. That being said, I will be downloading Vista and use it myself 😀

Did DOS have security updates? Or any updates? Or just new versions? 🙂[/quote]

Where there even true virii back then? Internet was barely even around when people were using DOS...

The last line on the form "....I may be contacted about future updates for Microsoft India" ???? I wonder if this was supposed to be for Indian customers?

11 security updates released on Monday. But then to be fair, there are weekly security updates for Suse 10.1 (for all the prgrams and the OS itself). Hey, better to have too many than not enough.

I heard nothing but goood things about SUSE, I looking forward to playing with it once the my download is complete.

There were some master boot virii circulating around on floppies.

And as for the expiration of Vista Beta, it is June 2007 (that is the date given for the downloaded beta from back in June of this year).

whenever you talk about anything microsfot, you always get a couple of p***ies crying about bugs and whatnot. Gets annoying...

I wonder if this is the RC1 that I heard they were close to finishing. I have the Beta1 or beta2 version they released back in june. Ah well i'm game to try it out.

You could say that for worms but as far as virii go, there was plenty of viruses, the delivery system was mostly social engineering but that's still true.

BTW, DOS had more than it's fair share of bugs.

What about "Hello World." not much room for error there, unless its microsoft.
I agree. If you write it in assembly and run it on a stripped down Unix kernel you're probably pretty safe. If you run it on Windows and write it in VS .NET using MFCs... good luck.
