I just bought a meal at http://www.restaurant.com/ a $25 gift certificate for $10.
When my transaction was complete a page popped up saying that that if I signed up for an 1 month free account at
http://www.buyerassurance.com they would give me $10 back!
Restaurant.com also has some %50 off coupons for $6.50 (good at some nice restaurants and sushi places in Austin.. yumm)

... the catch is if you don't cancel with buyer assurance within 30 days they charge you $7 a month... but I looked at some of their features and I started thiking it might be worth the $7, has anyone dealt with them? does the service really work.
They say they do double cash back on the difference from any purchases in the last 90 days if you find a better price, and it works with online retailers.

From thier site:

Best Price Guarantee
You get our 90-day Best Price Guarantee Protection on all your qualifying purchases. Commonly purchased items such as electronics, books and music are covered. So as long as you're a Buyer Assurance member if you see the item you purchased with a credit or debit card advertised for less within 90 days at the same store where you originally made the purchase, then we pay you double the difference in price, up to $100.00 per claim and $2,000.00 per year. There is no need to pre-register products. Your Buyer Assurance price protection is automatic and always active.

Extended Warranty
Get an incredible value with Extended Warranty Protection on common purchases such as computers, stereo equipment and electronics. Most stores sell this valuable protection for as much as $75.00 per item covered. As a member of Buyer Assurance, you get Extended Warranty Protection for up to one additional full year on every qualifying purchase you make. Again, there is no need to pre-register items you buy -- they're automatically covered up to $1,000.00 per item and $10,000.00 per year! Just knowing that Extended Warranty Protection mirrors the terms and doubles the timeframe of a manufacturer's warranty makes your final decision to buy that much easier.

Damage, Theft & Loss Protection
Buyer Assurance covers you with 90-day Damage, Theft and Loss Protection on all qualifying purchases. So if items you buy are damaged during shipping, stolen after you get them or lost at any time... you're protected up to $1,000.00 per item, $5,000.00 per claim and $10,000.00 per year! Frequently purchased items such as computers, electronics and books are covered for a full 90 days after you purchase them!

Delivery Guarantee
Every qualifying purchase you make is protected against loss or theft during shipping. Just have your package shipped and tracked by a company with an automated package tracking system (e.g. Federal Express, UPS, Airborne Express, U.S. Postal Service). If your order is not delivered within 30 days of the ship date, don't worry - you're covered up to $1,000.00 per item, $5,000.00 per claim and $10,000.00 per year!

Credit Card Fraud Protection
Whether traveling or at home, you can shop over the Internet, telephone and anywhere else with confidence thanks to Buyer Assurance Credit Card Fraud Protection. If anyone makes unauthorized charges to your credit card or debit card, then we pay the bill beyond what your card carrier or other insurance covers up to your limit of liability. You're covered for up to $50.00 for each credit card and $500.00 for each debit card, up to $1,000 per year!

Am I missing somthing?.. it seems like a pretty good deal (even without the free food)

Hey this is my first post... be gentle.

"...So as long as you're a Buyer Assurance member if you see the item you purchased with a credit or debit card advertised for less within 90 days AT THE SAME STORE..."

Many stores already have a 30 day match policy, i think. Most credit cards already offer the extended warranty... so.... seems like you're not really buying much.

I'd cancel the "buyer assurance" thing.

The free meal is hot, though!
