Free Magazine Subscription?

So I get home yesterday, and in the mail is a new magazine. For Him Magazine. At first I think it was mis-delivered, but it had my name on it. Ok...I dont recall signing up for any magazines in like, the last 3 years...
According to the label, I have a subscription until Sep 07. WTF. I went through the last 3 months of online statements for my credit cards, and there are no charges for a magazine, or charges from places that I dont know exactly what the charge was for.

So yea, I apparently got a free magazine for a year. 😕
 
Sounds like you may have been duped into accepting a "free subscription" at Best Buy/Comp USA/etc. They just store the credit card you used for the transaction, and when your subscription runs out, they "conveniently" auto-renew it using said credit card.

Those scams should be illegal.

Thats what I'm thinking, although I always say no to those. Maybe they never asked...

If that is the case, I'll refute the charge if and when it happens.
 
I had the same thing happen to me but for Ladies Home Journal!! 😱 Even has my name and everything.

I have no f'ing clue why I get it, kind of funny though. It goes straight into the trash from the mail box every time though since even my fiancee doesn't want to read that.
 
I had the same thing with OK Magazine - it was weekly, and a real nuisance. Some kind of celebrity stupid pictures and gossip, yuck. I cancelled it, but a year later I got billed for renewal, really expensive, and I had to go thru the credit card thing to get the payment reversed.
