*Free* Linux Network Backup Available from Arkeia Software

I still need to setup an automatic backup - at present I do DAR archive backups to an external disk <ahem, cough, cough> every once in a while. 😱 I'd really like a backup prog that was automatic (daily) where I could do a bare metal restore if necessary. I'm thinking about Dirvish http://www.dirvish.org/. Anyone know more?

Being able to do Bare Metal Restore is nice....just can be tricky. It's actually why I prefer virtual servers to physical ones.... The virtualization layer allows for system-level snapshots and templates. It simplifies the heck out of that stuff if you have Enterprise ESX Server.

Bacula is file level, but I have done complete restores for both Linux and Windows servers using Bacula backups. it just takes a bit more work I suppose.
