Hey all,

There are NO OTHER ISPs here, so, I'm stuck with it. Now, along with the big floating banner window they have, they actually pop up new web browser windows LITERALLY about every 15-30 seconds. Can you believe that? It doesn't matter what you're doing. They pop up over and over as the live window, and totally kill anything you are auto-scrolling, typing, etc.... EVERY FEW SECONDS. I hope that company fails miserably and whoever came up with the idea of the new pop-ups dies in abject poverty.

[Edit....check out my last post....]

I hate Juno, I tried them once and then I was like HELL no! I'm sorry that you are stuck using them the only other alternative I can think of is paying for the internet?

The only time I had to deal with crap like that was getting paid to surf with Clickdough. It was worth it though, as 2 computers at work fetched me about $400.

Nutcase,

I WOULD pay for internet.... But Juno is the only ISP here that has decent rates. EVERY other one has a small limit on usage, and charge too much for what you get. I won't pay 20 a month for a limited number of hours per month that I will go over every month. I did the figures once based on the prices of the ISPs here, and it would come out to about $ 85.00 per month based on my household's usage. That's for DIALUP. So, free is the only option right now. I got 8 "try Juno web" boxes open right now... I have been closing them, but while I was searching for something for about 2 monutes, I got all of these. :|

I remember, back in the day, when Juno was simply an email provider. You'd request their special software, that you would get if you were lucky, so you could dialup and read your email. Nothing else. No web, no nada, only email. It was pretty cool at the time. I thought they would fail miserably until I found out they became a free ISP.

Use, in place of that, a service called 1stUp.com

They contract their services out to companies like radio stations and television stations.

Check out KGW.com and KWJJ.com for free dial up access with a small floating banner and no pop up windows.

I understand and appreciate you trying to help. But I have said, and will say again. No. You don't understand. NOT AVAILABLE HERE. NOBODY is available here. No access numbers. Juno. That's it.

But thanks anyway.

So why dont you switch from Juno Free Web to Juno's $9.95 per month deal. More access numbers, no pop-up's and no floating banner ad. I've been using their pay web for a while now without problems. Rarely get a busy signal, usually log on at 50k or a drop above (56k modem), no limits on hours, etc.

Paulson if you would read the thread you would see that the pay ISP's all have hour limits that he would bowl over and be forced to pay incredible amounts of money for a service that should be 9.99 a month unlimited.

I know exactly how DD feels. I used Juno for a good 5 months when I first moved to where I am. Juno around here uses the same exact access number as AOL. The dial up number was somewhere around 15 miles from my house. I could get a 49k dial up connection and download at about 6.2k a second.

The local isp that was less than 2 miles from my house let me connect at about 48k and the max that I have ever got from them is about 2.5k a second.

For 5 months I put up with juno and their crappy banners and buggy software. But, it got to the point where the damn access software that they make you use would crash every time I disconnected and I would have to reboot my machine every time I wanted to sign back on. They also tried pulling this popup crap on me as well. It was for some survey that asked you about your web surfing habits. I put up with the pop up for a couple hours, but got so annoyed that I finally filled the damn thing out in hopes that it would go away once I filled it out. No such luck. I filled it out and I proceded to get that fscking thing.

I tried using webwasher and atguard but the second that I enabled them, my juno connection would crap out.

So, I finally settled for a crappy connection through a local ISP. Luckily I don't pay for it because work picks up the $20.95 monthly tab.

There won't be any tears shed by me when that piece of crap dies.

Thanks, Seph....

It's just proof that, unless it's one Paulson started, he doesn't have time to read the posts before he just adds his 3-4 word post to up his count. ;)

But anyway....

THAT DIDN'T LAST LONG!!!!:):):)

From time to time, Juno DLs little updates before it will allow you to get online. That's how it updates the software, adds new ads, breaks its crackability, etc.... Well, it DLed one today, and now NO MORE POPUP! :) Hehehehe....
I bet they got FLOODED with emails about it, and realized they had gone TOO far. :)
