Go to Circuit City (B&M or online) and search for HF25MM. It's the 2.5 mm earset which can be used on any phone with a 2.5 mm jack - including most cordless phones. They have it on sale for $24.99 and there's a $10 Jabra rebate (UPC) and a $15 CC rebate (copy of UPC). If you pick it up locally, you'll save on shipping. Sales ends this Sat. and the rebates state the item must be purchased between 6/3/01 and 6/9/01.

See ya, Steve.

This would be great for my cordless and cell. It's made by Fellowes.

I looked at these, the deal is great. But this system has the microphone and the earspeaker all in one place. Anyone know how the pickup is with the microphone? Doe it pick up your voice well even if you are in an area with some background noise, like in your car or on the street?

I went to CC B&M yesterday. But their system won't print out the rebate forms. So they just sold me the earset for $0.01.

Borg, this unit has a very good mic and that isn't a problem. Course, just as with any earset, you can't be on the freeway with the windows down and expect the other person to hear you clearly.

Borg20001, Jabra's are some of the best bug/mic combo's around. Great build quality and sound (I have one).

Cool...rushed to the local CC from work. There were about 3 left.
Just tested it with my Panasonic 2.4G (the $80 deal !!) and it works like a champ.

I've had a Jabra earset for a couple of months now. The earpiece is very comfortable after you figure out how to stick it in your ear. The reception is outstanding. I had the same reservations about the mic being built into the earpiece but it works great. I don't think it's just an omnidirectional mic (like a speakerphone) because the reception is so much better. I think it may use the vibrations in your ear from your voice for pickup.

Has anybody tried these out at radioshack?

Retractable Purple Translucent Headset -Makes handsfree work fun and easy! What a GREAT DEAL!

They are just $1.99 with coupon. These look like exact clons of the Jabra with retractable wires. Check the coupon section of Radioshack.com and print those babies out.
Good only through 6/7.

Good alternate for the awful CC rebate if the quality of these thing are OK.

I just got the radio shack item and I already have the Jabra.

The radio shack is not really a "replica" of the Jabra. The Valley Stream, NY radio shack had plenty left and the guy looked at the coupon for a little bit, but didn't give me any problems. $2.16 out the door.

The jabra is more comfortable since it's got the gel piece. It stays in my ear better as well. The radio shack one has a large, round(couple of inches) base that's a bit more to carry around BUT the cord retracts into the base so that there is no cord to get all tangled up. The jabra one is pretty much just a cord with an earpiece at one and and a plug at the other end.

With both I hear the other person clearly and loudly. I had another oem product before this that didn't amplify and it was hard to hear the other party unless I held it in my hear.

I'm not that impressed with the microphone of either product. Both are about the same. In a car, the other person can hear you fine but it sounds about equivalent to the you talking on a bad speakerphone. It's obvious to the other party that you are on a hands free device. Still though, they can hear you find and have a very acceptable conversation even while driving 55.

Personally, I feel a LOT safer using a hands free device and I think it really makes a difference saftey wise.

At $2.16 or free after rebate, I don't think you could go wrong either way.

I'm going to keep using my Jabra (which I paid $20 for!).

I got the radioshack one and personally i think it's a piece of sh!t.... the other person couldn't hear me in a quiet room unless i spoke REALLY loudly which is annoying to me.

personally, I've tried 3 types (mic in the earpiece, mic halfway down the cheek, and mic wrapping around to the mouth) and it only works well if the mic is an inch from your mouth. Oh, I also have a high-end plantronics headset (with the clear mic tube) and that thing is AWESOME! But then again that costs a fortune compared to the jabra and what else....

i returned the radioshack one.... not even worth my $2.14!!

I tried to put an extra jabra eargel (they give you 6) on the radio shack device and that actually works pretty well. Fixed the worst part (the uncomfortable earpiece) of the radio shack device.

I think mic wise, they are both about the same.

I guess I'll still play around with both.
