Free iPods.

Someone just dropped these guys on my desk at work.

She wants me to recycle them because they both have dead batteries...even tho the 3rd Gen nano holds a charge for an hour or so.

I am too lazy to fix them so they are going into our bin. She also gave me a Nokia cell for Verizon which is in decent shape.

Anyway - here's a pic.

You crazy?! It's a pretty easy fix. Repair them and use it/sell it.

The White one doesn't power on, and the nano is only 4GB. Not really worth investing money in IMO. I have a co-worker who is willing to take it though, so at least it won't be in the trash.

Where do you work? I just find it odd that either the company buys employees ipods or employees expect you to fix their personal electronics.

I normally do the same thing. Though if I can give it away to someone easily who wants it or can use it I will. Thrown away whole working pcs, extra wires I don't need, VCRs, and even a brand new working subwoofer.

She wanted us to recycle them. We will [unofficially] take small electronics for recycling every so often.

Woah, a real free ipods post, with actual ipods?

The world must be on the brink of total destruction.

I've given away a handful of Free iPods here already. I'd do another, but I am not creative enough to come up with a good contest that is AT friendly. lol

Batteries cost next to nothing, you can probably get one shipped from China for $5-10 on eBay and replace it. I had the LCD/controller go out on a 2nd gen Nano and fixed it with a cheap one from eBay. Was a PITA, but I like the MP3 player and didn't want to buy something new (so many these days have video and extra crap I don't need, all I want is something that plays music).
