20%/12 months * the amount on your credit card.

$6.67 per month on a balance of $600.

Depends how fast you want to pay it off. You can pay the minimum payment and probably would be paying 80% interest.

OK, I work at a minimum wage job and only 10 hours a week, not to mention a $10,000 university tuition debt.

I still want sexy video card though so I have to pay interest.

Unless of course you want to buy it for me? I would be very appreciative. :p

Sonz-like appreciation?

that guy's name was Sonz, right?

Then you don't need a $600 video card.

That's like saying, "I work at Walmart, but I want a Ferrari."

It doesn't make sense. If you can't afford the card then why buy it? You already have a big debt to pay off not to mention that your pay is also fairly low.

Dude, you suck at life if you are even considering financing for a video card.

Haha, I'm glad people have the same mindset as I do in at least this thread. OP you seriously shouldn't be financing a video card, what you should do is save up enough money for you to buy it and guess what, by the time you do, they'll probably have a revision of the card with even more power. What makes you think you need this card now? What is your current video card?

Just wait for the cash. If you are in college and you cannot calculate interest, then you should be hitting the books more and satying away from a new video card.

The people here can't even get the math correct.

The first month you will pay (19.75%/12)*$600 CDN = $9.88 CDN. If you don't pay down your balance, you will keep paying that $9.88 CDN forever. If you do pay down your balance, that $9.88 CDN will drop each month that you pay down the balance.

[*]For example, if you can afford to pay $50 CDN each month, then you will pay this off in 14 months, having paid a total of $674.01 CDN.
[*]If you can only afford to pay $30 CDN each month, then you will pay this off in 25 months, having paid a total of $733.75 CDN.
[*]Finally if you can only pay $10 CDN each month, then you'll pay it off after 22.5 years, having paid a total of $2684.37 CDN.

The people were correct when they said you can't afford the card. Wait 3 months until the card is $300 CDN and buy it then.

Then perhaps you shouldn't title your thread "I'm a financial idiot."

No, this is a "I'm mad because people didn't take my side so I'm changing the thread in the hopes the mods will lock it" scheme.
