free image software that'll resize pics?

MS paint does that.. Go to "SKEW/STRETCH" and put in a negative number (i.e. -25%)... Then save as a jpeg

edit: read the "other than paint" thingie.. the question is, why? In other words, do you want to do batch resize or something?

what about cropping? I need to crop just one portion from two pictures.... it's easy in photoshop but paint always leaves the big white space... I'm not good with paint... help 🙁

Image then ATTRIBUTES should help you crop...

by the way, do you have office? I'm not sure if all versions have this but buried in office is a fairly decent photo cropper/resizer.. I forgot what it's called though

Microsoft powertools, you can right click and resize things from explorer... you can even resize a group of pics.

Microsoft also has a PowerToy that does the job.
Image Resizer

This PowerToy enables you to resize one or many image files with a right-click.

I asked the same question a few months back.. I got recommended this power toy. USE IT!

Yes, it's a pretty good one if you have WinXP. Even good for optimizing the file size without losing much quality.

EDIT: Woops.. I actually replied to this... forgot that I found it using search function. =/

I use Image Resizer all the time, I like how it's integrated into the OS just right click on a file and resize on the fly.
