just signed up for pics.bbzzdd in the hope of uploading my photo collection only to find out that the limit is a measly 10 megs... which is ok considering its a free service! 🙂

just wondering, is this pretty much what to expect from free services?? or is there a gmail style one that goes nuts and gives u a huge amount?

peace

Disk space and bandwidth cost money which doesn't grow on trees.

You can register a domain and get web hosting for $9.24/yr (first year) from DreamHost.com which offers 2.4GB/120GB

1. Sign up for the 1-year Dreamhost.com package, 120GB transfer & 2.4GB HDD space, for $9.99 using code 777 on the Crazy Something Insane plan.
2. Install Coppermine or Gallery.
3. ???
4. Profit!

Edit: I hate thee RossMAN. 😛

I agree with RossMAN. Who doesn't have $9.24 a year to host their own files/picture galleries? (Nothing against dwell and bbzzdd.com or any of the other free hosting sites)

I would never recommend DreamHost, it was merely a suggestion for the cheap asses here on AT.

How about you send the 40gb drive to me instead? 😛

I've got a 120 gig drive lying around too 😛

That's either going into my already big tivo or else my mac cube for video editing...

cool! just wondering! 🙂

i just spent some time the other day organizing my photo collection and realized that it would be cool to have it online, but its like 200mb or something like that (mind you, i still gotta compress a bunch of 500kb photos that ppl send me... )
i don't live in the US so 9 bucks = around 35 in my crappy brazilian currency and that's still not that much, but i don't think its a worthwhile investment at this particular point in time....

thx for reminding me about college webspace... i bailed outta this semester and the next to come home and work but i'm still registered and have 6 semesters before i'm not officially a student anymore and i still have my email access so i guess i still have the webspace! 😀 just not sure what the limit is...gotta check!
