*only* 600$ for that CPU........ free cooler totally worth it.

The problem is most games dont support that many threads.
Stock vs Stock, its like ~5% or so faster than a 2600k in most things at best (gameing wise).

300$ for a 2600k + buying a non stock cooler > much cheaper than buying a 3930k.

Why is this relevant? cuz if your worried about a coolers price, when your throwing around 600$, for something that barely outperforms a 2600k (gameing wise) but costs twice as much.

Do you enjoy being wrong all the time or are do you just not care?

tried it, the 3930k in microcenter's website says

"Available for In-Store Pickup Only.
Due to limited availability of this item, only 1 item per household can be ordered."

I believe that he meant you can add the h100 to your order, buy it online but have to pick it up in the store. Rather than just grabbing what they give you.

Um no you can't. You can add it to your cart but checkout only allows in store pickup. Which is useless for probably 90% of people here :)

What is wrong with instore pickup? If people arent willing to drive to get 150 dollar part free, they have issues. I know people buying MULTIPLES of these just to resell the h100s and make free cash

I'm not sure where you draw the line for reasonable driving distance but majority of people are probably several hundred miles away. There are not very many locations. Not sure how the people you know get several when its 1 per customer either and they all have very limited stock. Mine had 3 only.

Mine had 18 at one of them and there are 2 that are 2 hrs away from me give or take. Thought microcenter was around more then that. Eitherway, its still a seal!

I was aware of the website purchase, but without shipping, it is no more than a reservation.

Microcenter limits the bundles just like all others. Limit 1 per customer per 2 weeks, as explained to me by the general manager. I've bought several of the 2600K + $80 off motherboard bundle, but I have to wait 2 weeks between.

As nanaki333 said; the whole point is, it costs me $24 in gas and way more than $100 in my time for me to go to Microcenter, so it is cheaper for me to order from Newegg most of the time, however, when I am in Atlanta already for business or on a family trip, I do stop by the store as a general rule if there is a major deal going.

Here is the catch, and why their deals work for them: most of the time, when I go in, I end up buying an additional item (or three), and that is the reason they run the deal in the first place. In-store pickup, getting you to the store with a loss-leader, then selling you more. At least I get them to price-match Newegg so I still win. And as far as I know, Microcenter is only in very highly populated metropolitan areas.

Your not going to feel very good when Ivory Bridge and Haswell come along in 2012. gl

I always feel good about new chips.

We won't see Haswell in 2012 anyway, but I'll have one of those too when it arrives, unless AMD leapfrogs.

Don't spend your life waiting for tomorrow, you'll miss out on today. Today is a given, tomorrow isn't promised to anyone.

i got mine from microcenter. i actually had to go back there and asked if they had any coolers that work with it, cause my OCK doesn't have the proper mounting kit with it. the guy told me "you didn't get your free water cooler?"..... and the rest is history...

That is really funny. I heart Micro Center.

And here I thought SB-E was for benching...real benchers don't use cases. Setup the rig directly on top of the card board box the mobo came in heh =D

I used to do that for a lot of my builds when money was tight lol, then I would grab a case later on when I could. Better to spend 50-100 on a better/cpu/gpu/mobo/ssd then a case IMO. Then grab a case later on heh.
