Free ftp server software

My coworkers (all engineering grad students) swear by that, so you might want to try it before you go with my suggestion of warftp.

I think vsftp is what's coming standard on most linux distros these days.

if you have XP pro you have a free ftp server that comes iwth IIS....just have to go through windows components to isntall and its in there...

Another vote for Filezilla. It's pretty easy to set up, but not very intuitive. Just remember to read the documentation.

me too. I found it quite easy and intuitive to set up, with more features (or more features intuitively available) than the few others I tried. There's a 'official' forum for it too which seems reasonably active.
