Slow server for downloading, hitting about 20-30 kbps.

When registering, you have to give all your information to sign up. Hope thoughs Koreans don't spam.

Wow really? I dled at 608kbps. I was gonna post this actually just now lol i just got done playing a 2hour session to test it out beforehand and actually posting it. Saw it on joystiq advertised, the game kinda reminds me of gunz international which was fun imo with a little bf2 flavor however its still full of bugs and the maps lack size. Graphics are above average and are decent with max details and AA/AF. Theres also not many classes to choose from, it kinda makes me feel ive played this game before? the old DOD maybe?

A buddy just send me a link to this yesterday. I have not yet tried it out since I'm waiting for some guinea pigs (i.e. you guys) to report back with how it is. :)

It may not be a catch, but it could be the reason it is free... You see the question's asked were "Why is it free" & "What is the catch?"... He may have only answered why it was free and thus didn't have an answer as to what the catch is.

Sweet game. Okay, no catches. Maxed out graphics on Slied 6600GT's, getting average 350 fps(using FRAPS). No ranking, but theres a level system like BF2 in there. Great online, no offline.

EDIT: couple things.

no widescreen support.
mouse sensitivity SUCKS. I put it to maximum mouse sensitivity, and it feels like sensitivity 5 in counterstrike:source (i use sensitivity 15 in CS:S).
And can't remap the keyboard wtf?

engrish everywhere, so i just turned on korean lol.

It is a "Global Test", that's why it's free.
It won't let you play however until you register, I didn't get past that point.

i got widescreen to work heh. just go to the ini files under the system folder and you can muck around.

It's an alright game. Some annoying quirks or bugs (spawn me with my fists out... yeah great idea), but hey BF2 has like 2x as much and its a huge commercial product. I kind of think of it as a cross between Battlefield and Quake/UT.

Every server only played the Havana map though, so although its free and decent, when I got games like BF2, Joint Ops, and DoD: Source, its kinda hard to want to choose War Rock.

Still, its good to see games like this out there, so I personally recommend at least giving it a try for only 200mb download.


I edited Engine.ini and tried widescreen resolutions, but loading the game through it back to 1024x768 as if they were invalid. I tried 1680x1050 and 1440x900 but neither worked. What did you use, DanTMWTMP?

heh, wow, its like a total ripoff of BF2.

i should D/L it, its probably better than BF2
