The ones in my area don't do that anymore, atleast the america's tire. They only fix it if you bought the tires thier other wise they charge like 5 or 10 bucks. I know they used to fix any for free but like a year ago I brought my sisters car in and they wanted to charge, then they didn't even fix it becuase they said it was too close to the edge of the tire and they would have to replace it. So you might want to call first if you are expecting to get it for free just to double check.
