I thought it was a good deal until the saw the advertisement on the last page. It is like pouring gas on an open flame. Look at the PDF version and see what I mean.

Hmmm....

This is a religious publication, not sure if proper for forums, especially "Hot Deals"

Titles of other "books" include:
911 Edition of More Than A Carpenter
911 Edition of the Jesus Video

The word "God" is used like 20+ times on a page......ugh....

Anyhow, download the PDF, check it out for yourself.

Thank you.

My beautiful baby daughter was born on September 10th, 2001. For her first birthday we are making a time capsule, for her to open when she turns 18. This will be a great addition.

Not a bad deal....but avoid the rest of their site.

I read their opional "marriage is on the rocks" article.

If you don't practice religion, give yourself a ?2.

Gee...thats awfully convenient. :(

More nuggets from said article:

"If you practice different religions, give yourself a ?1."
"If the wife earns more in your marriage, give yourself a ?1. If the husband earns more, give yourself a +1."

Thanks anyway for the link, I'll pass.

Well, it was a hot enough deal for the thankful people of NYC! They recieved about 1 Million copies of this booklet during its first week of distribution (which began just a couple of days after the attacks). Several million were distributed during the first month. It has been published in various languages throughout the world (Spanish, French, Chinese, etc.). When it was offered to a policeman patrolling a street corner in Manhattan, did he ask, "Oh, it doesn't talk about God, does it?" No, he replied, "Wow, thanks. Can I have 10 more?"

If you don't want it, don't order it. But I'm sick of watching this thread for a couple days and seeing criticism of a group that acted quickly and generously to meet the needs of millions of devastated people.

I swear all these christian fundamentalist orginizations trying assocsiate a national tragedy with religon. I'm sorry you just can't do that. Not everybody who died belived in Jesus and many of them I'll bet believed in other religons.

I'm sure people (not me though) turn to religon for answers but it isnt respectful to paste up chrstian propgranda over a national tragedy. If they do that then they should have a prayer to Shivia at the same time and every other religon represented in the tragedy. I swear we are going to get into a holy war with these d*mn chrstian fundamentalist groups we have in the US.

And if some Muslum orginiazation did something similar with the same idea they would be ridiculed by the media.

Sorry, I gotta say something to this...

Correct. And this has absolutely nothing to do with what's being discussed here. Read the booklet -- it makes no reference to this idea whatsoever.

Well, actually they CAN do that. And they're not stopping you or anyone else who wishes to represent the god Shivia. So go ahead and start that prayer.

And rightly so! It was their very own ideas & values on which the terrorist attacks were based!

Gotta agree, ai42. I saw this guy in Queens, NYC walking around with a pamphlet made by some radical islamic group. The slogan on the cover said something like 'Muslim religion will conquer all others.' Now, I'm not doing this to turn this thread into a flamefest, but isn't this Christian organization doing something similar, though far less extreme? I've run into a number of Christian organizations trying to convert people just walking around on the street, and though they do it in a completely peacefull way, I get this not-quite-right feeling about them. They come off sounding like their way is the only way to be in touch with God.

Now you got this organization painting a single religion on a brochure that's likely gonna be in the hands of many, many people.

*shrug* I'll still get the brochure for the rest of the content, though.

It's amazing how many people are offended by the word GOD. Honestly, come on now. I ordered one myself, thanks for the link. :)

Sorry but the terrorist were extremeist, and that exsit within Christianity too. I know lots of Mulsims and they are really good people. There are bad people who skew religon to their twisted ideas David Koresh for example, Bin Laden I classify in the same boat.

Well, actually they CAN do that. And they're not stopping you or anyone else who wishes to represent the god Shivia. So go ahead and start that prayer.
Yes I know they CAN, but I really think it is disrepectful to non-Christians who died.

Well, I am sorry about your not-quite-right feeling about them. But you haven't misunderstood them. The way they have come off sounding, "like their way is the only way to be in touch with God", is exactly what they believe. In John 14:6, Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father except through me."

Christianity, the faith of following Christ, accepts His claim that He is the only path to Salvation. That's why Christianity must be either completely true or false: Jesus either lied or told the truth, right?

Ah, that's the quote that I've heard from the Bible. And it brings us to the crux of my thinkings. It's not something I've brought myself to ask a Christian yet, but now's a good time.

Are all the rest of us non-Christians damned because we don't follow Jesus' teachings?

I'm thinking theologians (or someone) have discussed this type of thing in private before.
