Free Evga Cryostasis game improved with new PhysX File.

It is my understanding that the free Evga ver. is in fact already patched. I went thru all the hoops that many others did and tried to patch it..with NO success..SO..I read about the new Physx patch and tried it..walla..my game does not crash anymore..lockup hard..go to black screen and allow me to hear all the action and be able to do absolutely nothing about it..except ctrl-alt del..anymore. Happy gamer here. And you ?

Well it played just fine for me straight out of the gate as I downloaded it on June 10th and I was already experiencing the new fixes listed in the patch 1.1. My file version is 1.0.0.1 and everyone kept telling me that I needed to download the patch from Digital River, well I did and it states software can not be found uninstall and reinstall the game. Apparently people believed it was looking for my game on the C drive when I installed it on my E drive.

I haven't had any crashes and was already seeing ice shatter and water melt from the walls. I installed the PhysX patch Sunday but I really haven't noticed anything different yet. I'm still early in the game as the only weapons I have are the chain and valve. I just finished the mental echo that included a creepy boat ride.

This is the most misleading thread title I've ever seen, lol. I read it thinking that I was going to be able to get a free download of eVGA's Cryostasis with the new physx installed. Instead, I get a heads up on something that doesn't affect me or but 1% of the people in this forum. Oh well.

Gentlemen..to mislead a fellow gamer into thinking he may be on track to get a free game is sacrilege..please accept my apologies. I would have bit on my own thread and got myself all frizzy in hopes of getting a free game as well..dang..gotta stop doing that.

On the subject of my install of Cryostasis, downloaded in late May, not behaving as it should..and others loading it up in June and not having any problems..well, this has happened before. My game was installed on XP,Win 7 32 & 64 bit installs, they all had issues as previously stated. Now all systems run the game OK. My thoughts about this are; the download at Evga was patched with the new Physx files after I downloaded them and before others did. Can't be sure, and by the way, if I can help just one forum member with a post of mine, then I've done my forum duty for the week. There you have it.

Apology excepted. At least here, anyway. :D You'll have to ask the other 249,000 other AT'ers though for their thoughts.....As for the game. I find it so-so. It sure does convey the feeling of being extremely cold. And the atmosphere is pretty cool.
