For those interested in attending. Travel and hotel is up to you, but I think there must be a for that too.
This is from Bob Bierman VP of key3media (which puts on Comdex). Feel free to post this anywhere you think that people would be interested in attending.

Register free for the ICWC (Xybernaut's wearable computing conference) by going to http://www.comdex.com/chicago and click on Register Now! On the shopping cart page, select the International Conference on Wearable Computing. Fill out answers to the questions throughout the registration process. When asked for a ''priority code'' and ''coupon code'' use XTC for the priority code and 578 for the coupon code.

This will give you free admission to the ICWC and to the COMDEX Chicago exhibits, keynotes and the International Security and Biometrics Summit

Here is a direct link if anyone has trouble finding the right page. Remember to use the codes to get free entrance (otherwise $695).

Sounds good, as I live in Chicagoland, and I'm a CS student...

But what can I expect to see/do there?
And exactly which option for registration do I choose as there are like 5 (Flex Pass, Conference, etc), I am only interested in the maximum that I can attend for free.

Additionally, El Mocano, you may want to offer to PM people the coupon code, as I'm not sure you can post that information here.

As an afterthought I added the direct link to the "shopping cart" where one would normally have already picked what option they wanted. If you copy and paste all of that "stuff" at the end of my first post, it should take you directly to the checkout page where you can add the codes.

As for posting the codes, this was cleared with Bob Bierman, one of the VPs of 3KeyMedia, the group that puts COMDEX together. I specifically asked him if it was ok to post the codes. He said, "yes." He has been posting on another board that I frequent (yes, the company that runs the board verified with his company that he was who he claimed to be). He mentioned getting the word out about COMDEX, so I naturally asked if the codes (originally given to members of the other board) could be given. I thought they would want to limit the "freeloaders", but apparently not. Maybe he didn't know that I'd post it on a board dedicated to "freeloading" (or as close as we can get). If you have any other trouble (It took me a little bit to figure it out. That is why I put in the direct link), let me know. I'll see if I can't get an answer.

Though I've been reading the deals here for a while, this is my first post. I think a $695 freebie deserves some sort of prize. A gold star at least.

First, BUMP.

Second, could somebody explain to me exactly what I can do/see at this event. I have been searching the comdex website and reviewing the show. But is this a product fair? A job/networking event? A new technology event? A seminar for IT professionals? All or some of the above?

I would appreciate a semi-detailed idea as to what the advantages of attending this event would be.

What I would like to do is make some job/internship contacts, and check out some new cool toys and see how use my current toys differently.

Hey ElMocano,
Your direct link is not working. And I can't seen to find "International Conference on Wearable Com" option either :( Any suggestion will be appreciated....
