Im having trouble setting up my home mail server. I have Verizon DSL and set up a dynamic dns account at a few places, and the web server part works fine, but when I try to email to myself (im using Merak Mail Server Professional as the mail server) I get error messages back pretty much saying "we do not relay". It looks like dyndns.org might have a pay service for this? but for what they charge I might as well keep my current web host and not have it at home. Are there any free dynamic dns services so I can run my email server at home. Also, I dont need to send, only recieve. Thanks!

Dyndns but no email...

If you have Optonline look into their boost! service... 30/2 and they allow web AND email servers...

I'm pretty sure dyndns.org does not do any kind of port restrictions. I had a similar error when I setup my email server, I just setup secure imap and made the appropriate settings on my client (in this case my cell phone).

They offer free MX records as well:)

I'll have to look into it further, maybe I had some settings wrong. I saw these pay services; and got confused if mail would work or not

Mail Services
MailHop Forward - Manage e-mail for your domain
MailHop Relay - Relay mail to a mail server on a different port
MailHop Backup MX - Ensure your mail is delivered with our store and deliver service
MailHop Outbound - A secure, outbound SMTP server for on the go or all the time
