Free DSLR!

Just kidding on the offers, no referrals here.

I do need some help though, I have a sh!tload of Marriott points I need to burn.

Assume I have enough points for any of these, which would you take? Ranked in order of points required, highest to lowest.

D70S w/kit lens (AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G ED lens)
Rebel XT w/kit lens (EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens)
D50 w/two kit lenses (18-55 & 55-200)
D50 w/one kit lens (18-55)

This is a potential upgrade from a Minolta S414 so it's going to be quite a jump no matter what I end up with.

[EDIT]Bah the links aren't going to work I'll copy the descriptions...[/EDIT]

Viper GTS

D70s with 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5.

It will start you out in the world of DSLRs with nice glass, and you won't have to run out and pay more loot for a lens because those kit ones are garbage...

I'd maybe wait a bit and see how low the 20D prices drop once the 30D is on the market a bit more.

The build quality and ergonomics of the 20D are significantly better than the XT. I actually prefer the feel of my 300D to that of the XT.

Unfortunately they don't offer the 20D or 30D.

I don't need a new camera, so I can't justify spending any cash for one. But if I can't find a way to extract a higher cash value out of my points than the cameras are worth I will have to suffer through one of the four options.

😀

Did you even read the OP? This are the free ones he has to choose from with his accumulated Marriott points. 😕

D50 with 18-55 and 55-200

While the D70 is a better camera, having the second lens can really come in handy, and you'll still have some points left over to do what you will.

bingo

or sell it and buy a better Nikon 😉
D70s is a great camera, but Nikon offers much better ones that competes with the better Canon ones. Im partial to Nikon, so that explains my choice.
