You could try limewire, but that would be dumb because the game only cost 10 bucks.
BF2 is way better.

At one point Tribes 2 was released by the publisher (Sierra?) for free. I'm not sure if its still available. Check the stickified free games thread. I'm sure there are others also available.

I have BF2 but I'd like some Onslaught action, and the demo just isn't cutting it.

I don't think UT2004 has been released for free (legally). I've seen it pretty cheap however - ~$10 or so. Great game.

I don't know - maybe the official site? Gogamer.com also has a download service, and I think yahoo has a game-rental download service, but I don't know the catalog of either.

I swear I saw it on Newegg (the DVD version) for fifteen bucks.

Just buy it dude. You may not care about feeling honest, but it makes you look honest and thats important too.

I think he wanted to pay for it, but it appears he wants it now, not whenever it's shipped to him. Too bad everything isn't available for immediate download (legally).

i love direct2drive but their selection is horrible. plus prices don't go down as quickly as they do in stores.

I want to buy legally, but over the internet and instant download if there is such a thing.

Instant downloading?

No matter how fast your connection is, it's not THAT fast for a 4GB download. Driving down to your local game store would be faster for sure.

there already are a few but the selections are very limited or very old games...

Direct2Drive is the one that has games by different companies.
Valve has Steam for their games and some off-shoot games.
GoGamer has a similar service.
I occasionally get emails from Gamespot about stuff like this.
Ubisoft has some of their games for direct download but its usually the same games that are on D2D.

There's a few online game rental sites but those are usually older games.

Direct2Drive is great because it allows me to legally buy games that are not available in my country otherwise. Though I agree with Pontifex, their selection is small. I did buy Oblivion and Civ 4 from them, which are both fantastic purchases. Same reason I love Steam. Wouldn't be able to play Ep.1 otherwise (legally, at least, but I do not pirate software.)

i was just checking online for ut2k4. i want to get it for me and a friend to lan together.

circuit city wants $29.99 for it, target wants $39.99 for it. BB, eb & gamestop don't show it, so maybe they have it for cheaper.
