It is quite difficult at first to play with the KB, but eventually the car is quite controllable. It is the Nurburgring Grand-Prix track, not the actual Nordschleife.

yeah, i found it easier to use the mouse, really makes your hand hurt after a few laps though. if i had a racing wheel i'd be all over that, its just very sensitive on mouse/keyboard.

For what it is, a free game, it's pretty good. In fact, the UI / programming is better than many retail games I have played.

That said, it is a difficult drive with the KB. Very sensitive yet very poor turn-in/turning radius. Throttle is also difficult to manage with the KB.

Anyone up for an online game?

Wow, this game is really hard! I'm crashing all over the place.

Maybe this is why they give us steering wheels and pedals to drive our cars instead of a mouse.:laugh:

I've been doing 2:18 on the GP course with a KB. Guy online is doing 2:17 with mouse... Practice practice... I have played more than a few hours though. Once you get that mastered, take off TCS and DSC and start from scratch. I find it helpful to torque myself through places that the car likes to whip around. Now THAT is difficult.

I stuck to using the keyboard and it isn't too bad since I adjusted the sensitivity for some things. However, has anyone found an optimal setting if you choose to stick with the keyboard since mine are good but not great. The steering is still kinda loose for me but other then that I'm good. I'm up for some racing action online whenever as long as I know the server name and what not.

Awesome game though, the realism is A+.

Downloading man but wish it's more realistic than NFS or at least close to Gt4 regarding game playing.

Turn off the stability controls, plenty of realism. Not much feedback unless you have a force feedback steering wheel, but it'll do. The game is programmed by the people that did GTR2, arguably the best PC sim out there...

Downloading right now but won't get to try it til I get home. I have a wheel and pedals so that should make it a little easier. I'm pretty good a racing games so that 2:17 is in my sights.

I can almost powerslide around the turns but cant seem to recover and just skid into the grass. Handling is still tricky with a wheel and pedal but much better than kb/mouse. A few bugs here and there but can't expect pefection when it's free.
