The account is slightly limited but if all you need is a presence on the net, it's perfect. When you sign up you must recieve their newsletter that has advertisements but how many emails do you wipe out daily? I think it's well worth the time.

yes really free, make a temporary email address at a free site and use it to activate the account and then abandon it. Yes, really free. The only cost maybe involved is the domain, I didn't say free domain I said free domain hosting.

There is a catch. If you use your own domain, there is a $35 transfer fee unless you refer two people who set up domains.

you might want to edit the title of the thread, Really Free, but with catches

I was going through NameZero for a free domain name, but as of June 1st, I no longer have the domain and they want $34.95 for the next year, and to make matters worse, they registered the same domain but with a .net and .org so I can't use either of those if I switch to a new host.

Anyone know of a place where I can still get free domains? I don't need it to be hosted, I just want to be able to enter the domain name I want and be able to forward to my current website.

Why do you have to pay $35 transfer fee, if your just hosting with them. Your not transfering the name.

Doteasy's great! They've hosted my site for 3 months now and I've only been down one weekend. They even let me know what the trouble was and assured me that it would be corrected in the next 24 hours. Great service and everything. See for yourself. My site is in my sig.

As far as the emails, I have no clue what that is. I don't get anything from them except an email saying server maintenance is coming up at such and such a time.

noxxic, where do you see free domain registration with hosturbo.com?
They are only a web hosting site, and according to the FAQ, cannot help you with Domain transfers.

My namezero accounts are set to expire at end of the month, but I can switch to Plus plan with namezero for $19.95 a year.

Does anyone know how to switch from namezero to another?
I fear that if I screw this up, I will lose the domain name.
With that in mind, I am probably going to pay namezero the $19.95.
If there is a better plan, that is painless, and cheap, please explain.
Time is running out.

I really would like web hosting included, but the budget is around $20 a year.

They've been pretty good for me so far, especially if you need alotta space. It comes out to $8.25 a month for 600MB when you pay for a year. They've got support for a lot of extensions, check them out.

RobsTV,

Hmmm... I guess they changed it. I copied & pasted that from their site back then. It now says "Cheap Domain Name Registration."
