are any of these dns free public use dns? the sites that you listed either have you pay something or you have to use thier dns server to be able to access your webpage via a hostname

www.dhs.org is really good, they are a spinoff of an old company that used to do DNS names, I can't quite remember what the heck their name was ... Anyways, I've been using DHS for a few years and it works great ... I dont need to use their DNS either. Their DNS makes the proper changes, and updates all other DNS servers around the world. It usually takes about 24 hours for the DNS changes to propogate the Internet. (Updates are only done once per day at 6am) ... This only works if you have a static IP. They offer a Dynamic IP one too, but I haven't used it. In any case, try this one out if you have a static IP, I've been very pleased with the results (they offer two difference domain names you can use *.dhs.org and *.wox.org) ...

you should never have to use their dns
it's always supposed to be propagated everywhere
