FYI

It doesn't include free installation, it includes a free installation kit. This is very different if you are not good at running unnoticeable cables throughout your home (like me).

Also, the savings on the monthly premium is only a very small amount if you watch any local channels.

Great find though.

It has been posted several times before during the past year. Don't worry, it doesn't expire. They just pull that shi* on you to make you want to buy it. Not bad, but not a "hot deal" considering that it never ends (no matter what they post).

Thanks man. It is just that I have seen this deal a number of times, but never with free installation.

this seems like a nice deal. What would the difference be between the Dish Network and Directv?

Please leave your flame torches at the door - I did a search and came up with nada.

For each TV you need a receiver, also if you get this deal it comes with SINGLE LMB. Means you can connect only 1 receiver unless you get VERY expensive switches. If you the person that wants to watch a lot of PPV's then get Direct TV if you want more movie channels then get Dish Network. If you want both and have a lot of extra cash get both. If you go to I-want-my-free-dish.com you'll get to the same page.
Also if you consider getting Directv and setting it up on more then 1 TV, you would need to buy Dual LMB's.
This set up you get from these guys is only good if you going to use it on 1 tv.
Else it sucks

I got a Dish TV Gift Cert. It includes a dish500 with twin LNB model 3922 receiver and free install. And no 12 month contract. This is the best deal i could find. I am paying 100.00 and upgrading to the 4922 system and i still will get all the movie channels for the first 3 months free. I thought this was a very hot deal.

This is an OK deal if you just want one receiver. But if you're looking for Dual LNB then you should goto wal-mart. They have the system for 149.99. You can use those 50 GC's you got for 40 and your cost is only 120.00 without any contracts or any bull-crap first time customer crap.

Well, this was a decent deal. But there was a thread with a much better one. I searched, but couldn't find it. So click HERE to see the deal. Basically, ya get a dish, reciever and free installation. All ya need is some info from a DirecTV employee. Guess who's an employee? Me! If anybody is interested, give me a holler at hesdeadjim@ureach. com. :D

I think the original post is a very good deal - only $14.95 shipping and you only have to subscribe to the lowest priced package. You get an install kit which is all you need to set it up. I installed mine myself and it works great.

"24.95 plus applicable taxes AND Participation requires a minimum one month subscription to TOTAL CHOICE® programming ($31.99/mo.) or above" = final cost is close to $60!

This deal is $14.95 + $21.99 minimum for first month. Final cost = $37

Although, this is a dual LNB system. If someone wants to hook up to a second t.v. , the $22 or so more seems well worth it.

Blockbuster has a decent deal on DirecTV too - it's like $50 for a dual-LNB dish and 1 receiver with free installation, but you get 1 free movie rental a week for a year - DVDs are like $3.50 each, so if you use it, that's good for about $175 in savings! At Thanksgiving, they actually waived the $50 fee, too - you might want to keep your eye open for that again.

Well, if you look at the offer I posted, you have a choice of selecting the round dish or the oval dish (the para todos system). The oval dish also comes with a multi switch. The multi switch will allow you to attach up to four receivers to the dish. The multiswitch alone will run ya anywhere from $30-$60.

Is Direct TV the same as the Disk network? A friend of mine is a rep:
she said something about, a free dish (after rebate), free installation, free receiver.
The $199 rebate ends 2/1, free install ends 3/2001.

If you are interested, you can visit her website directly - www.bestratecalc.com.

Hope that helps someone.

ylee...

directtv and "dish" are competitors...the $199 rebate is for dish I believe...the current rebate is expiring but they have been renewing it for quite some time so it may come back with a new date.

fyi...some models come with IR remotes so you can control them through walls and across the house...this allows you to use one receiver for more than one tv (assuming you don't want to watch them at the same time (or at least different channels))...a nice option if you have a tv in the living room and one in the bedroom
