I stumbled upon this :
http://www.criminalsearches.com

It is still in beta, but it actually works pretty good. I was able to look up myself, I have no record, but checked anyway just to make sure no one is using my name. I looked at my niece record. She is 23, and has 31 records. Everything from DWI to shoplifting. GRR, I really got to have a talk with her.

Also has sex offender search with pictures, etc.
Found an area near me that has 5 sex offenders living in one block area. Thought it might be a shelter or clinic, its not , it was individual houses. I know what area to NOT go to now.

No one I know is coming up, and I know a couple of them have been arrested.

Site's worthless. I've "bumped heads" with the law on numerous occasions, (more than just traffic tickets :p ) and it found nothing. No arrests, no convictions, nothing.

One of my ex-coworkers was convicted of arson, and he's running a power plant right now! :shocked:

What are back ground checks for anyway? Seems pretty useless when you can become a mayor even if you got criminal background.

It didn't find mine either. Not surprised though, it's been almost 10 years since the last conviction.

Politics aside, its a very useful site.
If I'm hiring a babysitter and I type her name in and it shows she has convictions for burglary, arson, etc. I might not want her alone with my kids.

Wow, looked up some last names of some old friends; one of them was there - his dad, that is. Traffic offense, though it didn't specify.

And I searched for my last name. I didn't even know that the name was all that common, but there were 8 names there. No one I know though.

One of my projects involve maintaining real offender db code so various government agencies can access it, let me know if you want your names to be added. :)

Although I need a keycard for the real one...but hey..I have a sandbox for testing.

Arrested != charged with anything.

Well it tells you their disposition, whether the charge was dismissed or if they're serving a sentence.
