free credit report??

I remember seeing this on the news, that there were certain states that, by law, can get their credit report for free once a year or something....

Does anyone have any info on this? And does anyone know if it is from all three credit report companies or just one?

Thanks.

Post your social security number and birth date and I'll let you know if you're a deadbeat, or not.

According to the official records I accessed, you are owed vast sums of money from an unclaimed lottery winning.

it's quiet dump to let your social security number online
because i'm pretty sure there are identity theif, just having a party right now

you get a free credit report if you are denied credit. i dont believe this works for credit cards. if you were to apply for a loan from a bank, and are denied, you have the right to a free credit report so you can see why you were denied. there are 3 major credit reporting agencies, cant think of them offhand. they run about $10 for a report through the mail (or you can get them locally for $20 if you have a business that does it).

Damn, i have unclaimed lotto winnings!!!!?!??!?! please, tell me where! I will split with all of you!!!

Yeah, found the numbers for free (i live in MD, i get one every year 😛) reports frome 2/3 companies... i figure that's enough 🙂

Tho, I believe denied CC also works for getting a free report. I was denied a CC and in the letter, I was told to call for a credit report to see why. Well, I knew why, I was 18 and had no job 😛 damn pre-approved CC's... But now, i'm just curious to see what it says.

Huh?

Yes, in all 50 states you are entitled to a free report if you're denied credit - of any type, even if it is a credit card. Report must be requested within 60 days of denial.

Don't forget that there are three reporting agencies, and the information recorded in your file WILL VARY from agency to agency; in some cases wildly.

Also, some are used far more then others, and not all creditors use all three agencies.

You can also purchase reports any time you'd like (they're only $8). Two of the agencies will let you view and print them online: Experian and Equifax. The third, Trans Union will let you purchase it online, but they mail the report.

lnguyen,

Actually, I was wondering what "quiet dump" meant. Is he posting while sitting on the throne?

Trans Union is the least accurate, and Equifax is the least used by creditors. Experian is the big one.
