Purchase a new Starbucks Card for $20 with a Visa®, and receive one half-pound of extraordinary African coffee. Pretty good deal if your gonna spend $20 dollars there anyways. You know, nothing makes me hotter than some extraodrinary African coffee. ;)

I've done this deal twice now and yes it's a Good Thing © however the free coffee choices are limited to only four different types and they're all pretty robust. It'd be nice if they could offer a free .5 pound of their house blend or at least the Columbian roast.

VERY HOT

Buy $20 cards as gifts for good friends, give the 1/2lb as a gift to friends. :D

Edit: Also appears to have no limit on number of $20 cards....just you have to spend "at least $20 on a new card"....no mention of limit of free cards. :)

(yes yes, I do realize $20 is $20....but for some they're spending $5 per drink twice or more a day.....)

I had registered my card online, so when I went back for a second 1/2 lb of free coffee I bought a new card and then had them transfer my balance to my registered card.

I wonder if I could....
Buy 50 gift certificates for $1000, thus giving me 50 free half-pounds of coffee.
Sell the coffee for $10 a pound to people (i.e. friends, family, people at stoplights)
At $10 and 25 pounds that'll give me $250.
Sell my $1000 worth of gift certificates to a local corporation or business at a discounted price of $900.
End up making $150 and a nice shirt tan from standing at the street lights. Hot HOt Hot!!!!!

I'm going to assume African coffee is a blend of their African continent coffees; Ethiopian, Kenyan etal.....

I did this deal several weeks ago and finally finished the terrible african coffee blend and am back on yukon thankfully. It is definitely not a good deal IMHO.

isoflavone, which flavor did you get?

I just did this deal today and picked the Gazebo. They didn't have any of it brewed so I wasn't able to taste it.

Do it; good deal whenever you get anything free from starbucks. After all it is a $1.00 cup of coffee that sells to us for $3.00.
