COLUMBUS, Ohio ? In an effort to ease the pain at the pump, Chipotle Mexican Grill will be giving away free burritos, tacos or bowls on Wednesday.

The food will be offered at Columbus-area stores from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Only one item is allowed per customer and no fax orders will be accepted.

The company said it wants customers to be able to spend the money they'd usually spend on dinner on gasoline instead, The Columbus Dispatch reported.

"Columbus is a great market for us," said Chipotle spokeswoman Crickett Karson. "Our customers, many who are younger, are suffering at the pump. We thought, 'We have a little extra in the kitty, and let's give back.'"

I wish they had some in Westchester county, NY. They have at least a dozen in Manhattan, but none in the suburbs north of the city.

Damn, I wish I had a Chipotle here. When I was in Colorado, they gave me free burritos on regular basis because I ate there so much. They also used to do free burritos on tax day which was neat, and it was all day long.

nope...maybe new to MA, but they have been in the DC area for at least 5 years. Very yummy, diet busting burritos!
