Everybody offers free or cheap phones with plan commitment but this is the first time I have seen someone offer free or cheap netbooks with purchase of a 2-yr plan. Thought it was worth mentioning.

RadioShack is offering netbooks free or cheap with the purchase of a 2-yr data plan from AT&T (or Sprint for the HP).

here

8.9" Acer® Netbook with Built-in AT&T® Mobility Broadband is FREE with this. AOA150-1987
10.1" Lenovo is $89 s10e
10.1" Acer is $149 AO531h-1766
12.1" HP is $399 DV2-1022 dx (through Sprint)

edited for spelling of Lenovo - thanks handydave.

Good deal, but be careful about the data plan you get. AT&T caps their data usage and you can be subject to very heavy overage charges if you exceed it.

I wish it was only $40 a month. Pretty much all of them are at $60 a month unless you use less than 5 MBs, then it's $50. Cell phone data plans are a rip off.

Gee, wowz, I wonder what full online freedom feels like. I only have a q9650 so I can only dream of it.

Does anyone know how I upgrade to the Atom to get full online freedomz? Should I ask over in the cpu forum? Do I need to upgrade my mobo?
;)

i have a data plan that has expired and was planning on going for it again...maybe i will give them a call and see what kind of deal i can get. since i am paying for the plan anyway, a free or cheap netbook would be nice for the wife ;)
